Restored sections generally have maintained walking surfaces, while unrestored routes can have loose stone, steep approaches and exposed ridges. Tell us your group’s hiking experience and we can suggest a suitable route.
Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress in layers. Carry water, sun protection and personal medication. For camping, pack an overnight layer, toiletries and a headlamp; each tour page lists its published equipment inclusions.
Published itineraries are planning guides. Train service, trail access, weather and daylight can change a route or pickup time. Confirm live availability, exact inclusions and the total price before booking.
Platinum is the fully guided option on the programs that offer it. Gold, Silver and train programs differ in transport and guide arrangements. Check the individual itinerary for the applicable inclusions.
Some routes are designed for a gentler pace. Share each child’s age and hiking experience so the team can recommend an appropriate program and confirm campsite arrangements.
Yes. We provide tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads.
During a Great Wall hike, simply leave your luggage with your driver. For camping tours, we store it at our camping center, which is a farmhouse or hotel.
